Call for Market Place Topics for MKE Teaching Practice Conference 2026

Harnessing the value of Management Education Research to shape positive futures

08 Dec 2025

We are pleased to confirm that the BAM Management Knowledge and Education (MKE) Teaching Practice Conference 2026 will take place on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th June 2026 at University of Salford, Greater Manchester.

The theme of our Conference is

'Harnessing the value of Management Education
Research to shape positive futures'

In today’s rapidly changing business environment, management educators must adapt and innovate to prepare future leaders for complex societal challenges. The conference theme encourages participants to reflect on the role of pedagogy within business schools and consider how their teaching and scholarship can positively influence the future.

This year we are excited to have a Keynote Presentation from Professor Katy Mason, PVC & Dean of Salford Business School who will celebrate the contribution of pedagogy and highlight the centrality of management education research in the business school agenda.

Call for Market Place Topics

The British Academy of Management (BAM) invites you to submit a ‘Marketplace’ topic for the upcoming BAM MKE Teaching Practice Conference 2026, taking place at Salford University over two days in June.

This exciting event will bring together educators to explore the evolving landscape of management education and its role in shaping the future. Unlike traditional academic conferences, this event takes an informal approach: instead of a full academic paper, you are invited to submit a short ‘Marketplace’ topic to share and discuss with a group of like-minded educators. For details, please see the submission guidelines.

In submitting a topic, you are indicating your willingness to share in a short presentation (likely to be 5-7 minutes duration)  on an aspect of your teaching practice for discussion at a ‘market place’ table (up-to 10 participants at a table).

We welcome submissions on any topic relevant to teaching practice for example:

  🔷 Innovative pedagogies and teaching methods that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes;
  🔷 The application of digital technologies in management education;
  🔷 Integrating sustainability and ethics into curricula and teaching practices;
  🔷 Collaborative approaches to teaching and learning in diverse educational contexts;
  🔷 Challenges and opportunities in developing ethical leadership within management education.

The latest submission deadline is 10th April 2026 at 17:00 BST.
Please submit via the link below:

*Please note that for the paper submission, you will need to either log-in or create an account on Oxford Abstracts, the Submission Platform.

This year we aim to respond to submissions by the end of each calendar month to assist with your travel plans.
