By Air
Book a flight to London Heathrow Airport (LHR). The airport is about 10km from Royal Holloway. Either take a taxi (approx. 15 min.) or take the free inter-terminal service of Heathrow Connect to Terminal 5 (every 15 min.) and from there the bus line 71 to bus stop "Royal Holloway College" (approx. 30 min., £3). If you arrive at London Gatwick Airport (LGW) take the train to Clapham Junction and then change trains to Egham. The travel time to Egham is about 1 hour 20 minutes. A single ticket is approx. £15. By Bus
Two local bus services operated by White Bus run outside of Royal Holloway and serve the bus stops on the A30. They are as follows:
441: Staines – Egham – Englefield Green
500: Staines – Egham – Sunningdale – Windlesham – Camberley – Frimley Park Hospital
Cash, contactless or tickets bought on the White Bus app are all acceptable on the services.
Period tickets including weekly and four-weekly passes are available for any students living slightly further afield. These can be bought on the White Bus app, which you can download via the App Store or Google Play.

By train
The nearest railway station to Royal Holloway is Egham, a 5 minute walk from Egham High Street and 20 minutes walk from the main campus. Trains for Egham to London Waterloo take about 45 minutes and about 40 minutes to Reading.

If you are 25 or under then a 16-25 Railcard will save you on 1/3 on rail fares throughout Great Britain and costs £30 (valid for 1 year). To qualify for the Railcard you need to be aged between 16 and 25 years old (mature students aged 26 and over, who are in full-time education, can also apply).
By Taxi
Yell.com advertise local taxi companies for Egham and the Transport for London website provides some excellent advice on how to get around London via taxi or minicab. Please take a look and read any relevant information before you travel.
Normal rates from Royal Holloway to Egham should be £5-6 and from Royal Holloway to Heathrow should be £18-22 depending on which terminal you require. For journeys out of Egham, it is advisable to agree a price with the cab firm before you depart and share your journey with a friend if possible.
If you’re being dropped off by a taxi or Uber, your driver can enter the campus through the main gate. There is a drop-off area on the left, opposite Founder’s Square.
The vast majority of taxis are safe, but you may want to take a few precautions, especially if you're travelling alone. For example, only use registered/licenced vehicles and operators have your money ready before you reach your destination, get out of the cab and then pay the driver. When booking a cab you can also ask what sort of car will be collecting you.
