Jack Harrington joins BAM as CEO at the beginning of December
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jack Harrington as our new CEO, following a highly competitive recruitment process led by BAM’s Chair, Professor Emma Parry. Jack will succeed BAM’s first CEO, Madeleine Barrows, who is retiring at the end of November, after nearly 7 years in the role. Joining BAM at the beginning of December, Jack Harrington will lead the office team and work with BAM’s Executive and Council to implement its strategy.
Jack Harrington joins BAM from Chatham House: The Royal Institute of International Affairs, where he led research partnerships. Jack brings experience of working with boards to implement strategy, including as a trustee. He has experience of higher education and social science research gained across the UK and internationally as a funder, policy manager and researcher at including at the Wellcome Trust, the London School of Economics, the University of Surrey and the Open University.
Professor Emma Parry said, “I am delighted that Jack will be joining our community as CEO. He brings a wealth of skills and experience to the role that will help BAM continue to thrive into the future. While Madeleine is a difficult act to follow, I am confident that Jack will bring something special to the role and look forward to working with him”.
